Our students attend class, study and conduct experiments in the Train Station and Caboose, the Environmental Lab and Nature Center and Guion Science Center. Through the generosity of the College, its alumnae and the National Science Foundation, the department is equipped with modern instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
The Train Station holds a classroom and lab, and the Caboose is a study place. As an environmental science major, the student area of the Train Station and Caboose is yours. The area is outfitted with tables, computers, a projector for preparing class presentations, and a map library to guide projects.
Outside the labs, you’ll have access to our departmental 4WD vehicle and our most extraordinary facility of all — five square miles of campus and the Virginia Piedmont and Blue Ridge Mountains.
