Professor Brunelle lived in Spain for several years, and was fortunate to study Spanish literature in Madrid with the scholars José Hierro, Carlos Bousoño and Joaquín Casalduero. He is a certified translator and a life member of the American Translators Association. Before coming to Sweet Briar in 2006, he pursued a 20-year career in design and product development. During that time, he began translating books on architecture, design and art for publishers in New York and Barcelona, and has completed more than 100 titles to date. More recently he has edited educational materials, including study guides and sample tests for AP Spanish.
