Sweet Briar College’s 2015 Julia B. Waxter Environmental Forum will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, in the Wailes Lounge at the Elston Inn Conference Center. The event is free and open to the public.
This year’s speaker is Burton C. English, professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Tennessee. English will talk about “The Future of Biofuels From an Economist’s Point of View.”
Burton earned his B. S. in forestry from Iowa State University in 1974, followed by a master’s in agricultural economics from New Mexico State University two years later. He returned to his alma mater to receive a Ph.D. in agricultural economics in 1981.
