Sweet Briar seniors honored at end-of-year Awards Convocation

Each year, Sweet Briar College presents a number of awards to seniors to honor their academic excellence in specific disciplinary areas across the liberal arts and sciences. Several members of the Class of 2016 and one M.A.T. candidate received awards this afternoon during a special convocation that preceded the annual Baccalaureate ceremony.

The following prizes were presented:

  • The Juliet Halliburton Davis Environmental Science Award: Emily Morgan Dallas
  • The Juliet Halliburton Davis Environmental Studies Award: Savanna Cora Klein
  • The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Outstanding Scholar Education Award: Arielle Sperrazza ’15
  • The Excellence in Engineering Award: Lydia Nichole Fleck
  • The James Lewis Howe Award in Chemistry: Kiersten Jade Johnson Garcia
  • The L’Alliance Francaise de Lynchburg: Megan Kaitlyn Johnston
  • The John R. McClenon Award: Alexis Gail Smith
  • The Jessica Steinbrenner Molloy Award in Theatre Arts: Shannon Margaret McCarthy
  • The Lawrence G. Nelson Award: Kendall Madison York
  • The Pauline Roberts Otis Award in French: Megan Kaitlyn Johnston
