Sweet Briar College has partnerships with government agencies, non-profits, and industry organizations. In addition to contributing to our work on increasing the overall sustainability of our campus, we collaborate with these partners on projects that have impacts throughout our region and beyond. Leaders from partner organizations visit our campus regularly and students have opportunities to connect with them and to learn about internships and career opportunities in their areas.
We are always interested in discussing new partnership opportunities! Please reach out either to Prof. Lisa Powell (Director of the Center for Human and Environmental Sustainability) and/or Lea Harvey ‘90 (Director of Strategic Initiatives, Foundations, and Corporate Relations) about partnering with the Center.

USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)
NRCS partnered with Sweet Briar in developing a campus-wide conservation plan and is providing funding for campus conservation projects through the Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP). EQIP funding has supported the creation of our spectacular 14-acre wildflower meadow and crucial salamander habitat adjacent to Guion Science Center, as well as invasive species removal and erosion management across campus. Our District Conservationist Don Yancey and other NRCS officials at the state and national levels frequently visit campus to advise us on our conservation initiatives and to talk with students.
