Fall 2022 Production
“Into the Woods” by Stephen Sondheim & James Lapine

Stephen Sondheim’s classic musical brings characters from a host of fairy tales together into a delicately interwoven musical in which happy endings are only part of the story, and life continues on after they arrive and inevitably depart. A delightful meditation on the power of storytelling that also considers the some of the more difficult themes of the old tales: fate, desire, and the high cost of getting what you wish for.

“Into the Woods” is presented by arrangement with MTI.

Spring 2023 Production
“A Doll’s House, Part 2” by Lucas Hnath

Lucas Hnath’s Tony Award-nominated play, described as “smart, funny, and utterly engrossing,” by The New York Times, is a contemporary sequel to the naturalist classic by Henrik Ibsen, A Doll’s House (1879). In the Ibsen play, Nora Helmer recognizes her marriage to her husband Torvald to be a prison, and walks out him, famously slamming the door at the end of the play. Hnath imagines Nora and Torvald fifteen years later, in a reckoning that expands on Ibsen’s searing exploration of marriage and demonstrates its continued relevance to contemporary life.

“A Doll’s House, Part 2” is presented by arrangement with Broadway Licensing, LLC, servicing the Dramatists Play Service Collection. (www.dramatists.com)
