Technology is woven throughout our lives in big and small ways, connecting us with the world to enhance learning, work and play. From the phone in your pocket to the Virtual Reality systems in our hands-on labs, Sweet Briar provides the resources to support your digital lifestyle. Our passionate technology services team designs, builds and supports the systems used throughout the College.
At the heart of technology services is the help desk, which provides comprehensive technical support and computer repair. Available by email, phone and in person, the help desk is your first stop for assistance with your network-connected devices, systems and software.
Technology services staff also maintain an extensive, wired and wireless network that includes all residence halls, classrooms, public spaces and many outdoor locations. Computer labs in locations across campus are available to the entire community, providing specialized software, printing, scanning and other resources. Media resources, from cameras and audio equipment to video editing tools, are available for use by members of the Sweet Briar community for projects and events.
Our dedicated staff members support both students and faculty in the academic use of technology, from our online learning management system to the use of digital tools in the classroom. A team of programmers and analysts manage the College’s business and academic systems.
At technology services, we’re happy to help community members of all skill and comfort levels. The help desk is located on the lower level of the Dorothy Sales Building and open for walk-in assistance during regular operating hours.
