The Sweet Briar Sociological Society is a student centered organization intended to serve sociology majors and minors, but all students are welcome to participate. The group, meeting every two weeks, is intended to serve the following purposes:

To create solidarity and camaraderie among students, especially sociology majors and minors.
To provide opportunities to discuss information about internships and jobs.
To provide a forum for discussing student research projects with one another, exchanging ideas and getting feedback, and also to enable students to discuss pertinent subject matter, class material, and put in place a form of informal "tutoring" for students in sociology courses who would like some extra help, or simply to further elaborate concepts and ideas.
To discuss potential "special topics" meetings and bringing speakers to campus.
To have fun...including planned social gatherings, movies, dinners, and the like.
