sociological society

The Sweet Briar Sociological Society is a student centered organization intended to serve sociology majors and minors, but all students are welcome to participate. The group, meeting every two weeks, is intended to serve the following purposes:
- To create solidarity and camaraderie among students, especially sociology majors and minors.
- To provide opportunities to discuss information about internships and jobs.
- To provide a forum for discussing student research projects with one another, exchanging ideas and getting feedback, and also to enable students to discuss pertinent subject matter, class material, and put in place a form of informal "tutoring" for students in sociology courses who would like some extra help, or simply to further elaborate concepts and ideas.
- To discuss potential "special topics" meetings and bringing speakers to campus.
- To have fun...including planned social gatherings, movies, dinners, and the like.
