Checking In
Fall 2013
You should plan to arrive on campus Saturday, August 24; check-in is 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. All new students should check in at the Florence Elston Inn and Conference Center. Staff from Co-Curricular Life and other campus offices, along with the Residents Advisors (RAs) will be waiting for you with more information.
Following check-in at the conference center, students and families will journey to the residence halls to unload their vehicles. Football players from a local high school will be on hand to help tote things to students’ room! This event is a fund raising effort for the team; so please consider dropping a tip in their jar.
Please be aware that if, by August 30, you have not checked in with the Office of Residence Life or have not contacted our office regarding your plans, your residence hall space may be reassigned. Also, please note that we will be unable to accommodate any move-in or storage of belongings prior to 8:30 a.m. on August 24.
Check-in for Fall Athletes
If you plan to participate in a fall sports team, check-in is handled through the athletic department in conjunction with the Office of Residence Life. You should receive information about the specifics of this process early in the summer from the athletic department. For all questions, please contact the athletic department directly at (434) 381-6149.
International Students
International students should refer to the International Student Orientation page for your pre-orientation arrival date.
