James Piano Quartet Performs Feb. 1

The James Piano Quartet, artists-in-residence at Sweet Briar College, will perform at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 1 in Memorial Chapel. Admission is free. The concert will include compositions by Johannes Brahms, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Sir William Turner Walton.

The ensemble consists of pianist Nick Ross, SBC assistant professor and chair of the music department; Jana Ross, Nick Ross’ wife and a violinist with the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra, Opera on the James, Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and Opera Roanoke; Joe Nigro, director of SBC’s chamber orchestra, founder of the James String Quartet and member of the Roanoke Symphony, on viola, and cellist Wes Baldwin, associate professor at the University of Tennessee.
