Brahms, Chopin on the Program Sept. 26

Local musicians Peter Worford, Noemi Otto and Lynn Seipp will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, in Memorial Chapel at Sweet Briar College. Admission is free.

The trio will perform works by Johannes Brahms and Frederic Chopin. More specifically, the program includes “F-major Sonata for Piano and Cello, Op. 99” and “Trio in A Minor for Piano, Clarinet and Cello, Op. 114” by Brahms and “Introduction and Polonaise Brillante for Piano and Cello, Op. 3” by Chopin.

Worford, a cellist, is adjunct instructor of cello at Sweet Briar. He also is the principal cellist for the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra. He studies with Robert Newkirk, retired principal cellist of the Kennedy Center Orchestra.

Otto, a pianist, is the music director at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Lynchburg. She also runs a private piano studio and often accompanies vocalists and musicians at Sweet Briar.

Seipp, a clarinetist, is on the faculty at Liberty University. He is principal clarinetist for the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra, and he also directs the Liberty University Orchestra.
