Apple Valley 5K is Nov. 3

The 10th annual Apple Valley 5K will be run at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Gross’ Orchard in Bedford County.

Organized by Theresa Boyes, sister of college relations staff writer Suzanne Ramsey, the rolling 3.1-mile cross country course runs a double loop through the orchard on grass, gravel and dirt roads.

Walkers are welcome and a guided tour of the course begins at 8:30 a.m.

Entry, postmarked by Oct. 22, is $15 and includes a T-shirt and door prizes. Race-day registration is $20 and T-shirts will be available until they run out. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more.

Awards, crafted by Emerson Creek Pottery, will be given to the first male and female overall and the top three finishers in each age group.
