Sophomore jumpers Sarah Hibler and Olivia Smith had a great day at the eight annual Greensboro Hunter Jumper Classic, where the Vixen hunter and jumper teams competed over the weekend of Sept. 3.

Hibler was champion in the Adult Jumpers and won the Adult Classic, while Smith won the U.S. Equestrian Federation Adult Medal and the Ariat Medal.

Other class winners were Greer Gordon ’12, Elizabeth Hansbrough ’13, Ali Davidson ’13 and Aly Booth ’13.

Members of both teams rode well, said instructor and coach Matt Payne, noting the College was well represented by having several students in many divisions. He especially congratulated his riders in the USEF Adult Medal class, where Vixens swept the ribbons by taking first through sixth place.

“The rest of our riders all received awards at least in the top six for their divisions and have gained valuable experience,” Payne said. “This was a very strong showing for the beginning of the season.

Other team competitors were Becca Davidson ’13, Lauren Perhala ’12, Amanda Wager ’14, Abbey Wilson ’12 and Katie Cartwright ’14.
