Purvis, a first-year engineering student, recently competed in the Modern Pentathlon Junior World Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She also is a member of and trains with Sweet Briar’s swim team. Modern pentathlon involves five sports: fencing, swimming, equestrian show jumping, and combined running and pistol shooting.
Of her Olympic ambitions, Purvis says, “While it would be fantastic if I qualified this year, my sights are set on 2016.”
Go Rosie!
