Sweet Briar College is ranked in four of the Princeton Review’s top-20 lists in its 2015 college guide, which was released today. As in previous years, Sweet Briar ranked high in the “Most Beautiful Campus” category, coming in at No. 4, according to “The Best 379 Colleges.”
The College also scored high for “Best College Dorms” (No. 10), “Best Career Services” (No. 13) and “Most Accessible Professors” (No. 18).
About 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges and four colleges outside the U.S. are profiled in the book. It also gives each school a rating in eight categories based on institutional data collected during the 2013-14 academic year and/or its student survey for the book. Sweet Briar received a 94 in the academics category, up three points from the previous year.
The Review does not rank the colleges from one to 379 in any category. Instead, it reports in the book ranking lists of “top-20” colleges in various categories. The lists are compiled from surveys of 130,000 students attending the colleges in the book, though not all of the 379 schools appear in the top-20 lists.
The 80-question survey asks students to rate their own schools on several topics and report on their campus experiences. Topics range from assessments of their professors to opinions about their financial aid and campus food.
