Sweet Briar College is one of the best women’s colleges in the country, according to a new ranking by College Consensus. The list takes into account published university rankings as well as student feedback.
“Young women seeking the supportive, inclusive environment of an all-women’s college — from empowering academic programs to the networking power of robust alumni organizations — can look to College Consensus for a fuller picture,” according to the website.
College Consensus aggregates lists from trusted sources such as U.S. News & World Report, the Academic Ranking of World Universities and Forbes to come up with a Publisher Rating for each school. Student reviews from sites such as Niche, My Plan and Cappex are combined to create the Student Review Rating.
“The College Consensus method allows every institution, from the richest and best-known university to the smallest and hardest-working regional college, to demonstrate what they do best,” says Carrie Sealey-Morris, managing editor at College Consensus. “Students who are actually there [from] day to day have as much say about their college as experts who have never visited, making sure that all of those perspectives mean an even playing field for every college and university.”
