‘The Art of Uncertainty’ opens at Sweet Briar
Sweet Briar College will host an opening reception for its 2013 senior art majors’ thesis show at 5 p.m. Friday, April 19, in Pannell Gallery. “The Art of Uncertainty” highlights culminating work by Vianey Chavez, Virginia Graves, Danielle Hall, Madeline Hodges, Kaitlyn Holloway, Sally Toms and Jennifer Will.
Sweet Briar senior stages original play
Sweet Briar College senior Molly Harper literally stumbled into acting in high school. This month, Harper will present her final directing project, “Lies,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20, in Babcock Studio Theatre at Sweet Briar College.

Sweet Briar singers to join mass choir in state capital
Sweet Briar’s Chamber Choir is one of 21 choral groups from Virginia colleges and universities invited to perform as a 200-strong choir ensemble during a special concert to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation.
‘New York Voices’ features faculty talent
Ursula Kuhar, assistant professor of arts management at Sweet Briar College, will perform in a New York-themed recital at 8 p.m. Sunday, April 7, in Memorial Chapel. She will be accompanied by Sweet Briar piano instructor Anna Billias.
