The Margaret Jones Wyllie ’45 Engineering Program at Sweet Briar College is now taking applications for its Fall 2015 Explore Engineering Weekend for high school girls. The event is sponsored by AREVA and will take place Friday, Oct. 16, through Saturday, Oct. 17.
Blue Ridge landscapes by regional female artists are at the heart of two upcoming exhibitions at Sweet Briar College this fall. “Anne Hanger: Landscape Abstractions” opens at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, with a talk and reception in Babcock Gallery, followed by “In the Shadow of Paul Mountain: E. Hunt Barrett’s Views of Sweet Briar” on Thursday, Oct. 22, in Benedict Gallery.
Sweet Briar College will celebrate Founders’ Day Weekend on Friday, Sept. 25, and Saturday, Sept. 26. In addition to the traditional walk to Monument Hill, the College also will invest Phillip C. Stone as its 12th president.
Saving Sweet Briar Inc. has made its third and final payment to Sweet Briar College, fulfilling its obligations under a mediated settlement that prevented the school from closing on Aug. 25.
