An early morning fire has damaged one of the student residence facilities at Sweet Briar College. According to the College's department of safety, at approximately 2:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, local fire and law enforcement agencies responded to a fire at the Music Box, a one-story, duplex located on Elijah Road.
By the time officials arrived, all students had been evacuated from the building. No injuries were reported and the students have been temporarily assigned to other residence facilities on campus.
The damage to the building was not extensive, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
