Sweet Briar, Va.—The Sweet Briar Vixen softball team hosted the McDaniel College's Green Terror today at Vixen Softball Field in what started out as a grey and cloudy day. Hoping the predicted freezing rain and possible snow would pass over, the players took for the field for game one of a scheduled doubleheader.
The Vixens and the Green Terror were tied at 3-3 going into the seventh inning. McDaniel scored two runs off the Vixens in the top of the seventh inning, and the Vixens fell short at their last at bat. Game 1 goes to McDaniel, 5-3.
Weather predictions were becoming realized by the start of game 2, with snow flurries turning into a constant blowing snow. Conditions were causing dangerous playing conditions and after the first inning was completed the game was scoreless and called by the umpire.
