RADFORD, Va. — The Sweet Briar College swim team concludes their season at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships at Radford University today.
Sweet Briar was well-represented in a very competitive field of eight teams. The Vixens are in third place going into today which is the final day of the three-day competition.
Available results for the Vixen swimmers for events 13 through 17 are as follows:
Event 13: 1650-yard freestyle
FR Emily Jones (King George, Va.) placed 8th with a time of 20:02.98
Event 14: 200-yard backstroke
Sam Benito, sophomore from Germany placed 9th, time of 2:23.96
Event 15: 100-yard freestyle
Placing 5th, Charlotte Greenwood ('12/Wyndmoor, Pa.) with a time of 56.84; in sixth place, Melissa Simpson ('11/Madison Heights, Va.) Simpson's time was 57.22; placing eighth was Victoria Marshall, a junior from Horsham, Pa.) her time was 58.17
Event 16: 200-yard breaststroke
Hayley Hill ('10/Southamptson, Bermuda) placed seventh with a time of 2:39.74
Event 17: 200-yard butterfly
In fourth place was Hannah Hesser ('10/Richmond, Va.), time of 2:22.99; sixth place was sophomore Allison Stansberry from Nashville, Tenn. with a time of 2:25.57
Results for the final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay were not complete at this writing. Final highlights and results will be updated when the competition has been completed in full.
