Sweet Briar College’s International Writers Series continues with Chinese poet Zhang Er. Er will lecture on Wednesday, Feb. 11 and read from her work on Thursday, Feb. 12. Both events begin at 8 p.m. in Memorial Chapel and admission is free.
Zhang ErEr is the author of several books of poetry, including “Seen, Unseen,” “Water Words” and “Because of the Mountain.” She also has six chapbooks in English translation: “Winter Garden,” “Verses on Bird,” “The Autumn of Gu Yao,” “Pick Lotus,” “Carved Water” and “Sight Progress.”
Er, who moved to the United States in 1986 from her native China, has read and lectured at conferences, reading series, international festivals and universities in North America, Europe, South America and Asia. She is currently teaches at The Evergreen State College in Washington.
