The grand opening of
Daisy’s Café is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22. Admission is free and the public is invited.
During the winter break, Sweet Briar College’s Book Shop Café underwent a renovation, emerging when students returned to campus as Daisy’s Café, an upscale coffee shop named for the daughter of College founder Indiana Fletcher Williams.
In addition to Boar’s Head deli sandwiches, the new café will serve the Sweet Briar Roast, a house coffee that Steve Edwards, director of auxiliary services at the College, describes as “equal to or greater than [that served] at any coffee shop around here.”
The coffee, roasted for Sweet Briar by Lynchburg’s Rosetta Coffee Company, also will be available for purchase at the café in whole bean, 12-ounce bags.
