Sweet Briar, Va—The Sweet Briar Vixens hosted Eastern Mennonite University tonight at Williams Gymnasium for an exciting close to the regular season. The Vixens battled in every game, but lost to the Royals, 2-3. Game scores were 19-25, 25-18, 19-25, 25-12, and 5-15.
Team highlights for Sweet Briar include 13 kills for Cassidy Jones ('11/Rustburg, Va.), 10 for sophomore Ashley Winters (Mechanicsville, Va.).
With defensive play for the Vixens, Winters had 21 digs, Laura Jett ('11/Littleton, Colo.) with 16 digs, and first-year player Alexis Rukenbrod (Laurel, Md.) with eight digs and 15 team assists.
