Sweet Briar Athletic Department would like to welcome all the families and friends visiting our campus and supporting our teams at their competitions!
Friday's continuous drizzle and chill did not keep the many loyal fans from cheering at the soccer and field hockey games held today at 4 pm at Sweet Briar fields.
Field Hockey hosted The University of the South (Sewanee). The Vixens tried to stay with the Tigers, but were outscored 0-4. The bright spot for the Vixen team was first-year goalkeeper Maddie Wilson (Rhoadesville, Va.) who had a .866 save percentage against the aggressive offense of Sewanee. The field hockey Vixens will host conference team Eastern Mennonite University Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Boathouse Field.
The Vixen Soccer team had their challenges today against ODAC member Guilford College and lost by a score of 0-5. They will meet up with conference rival Hollins University on Monday Oct. 20 at 4:00 p.m. for this make-up game originally scheduled for Sept. 27.
Volleyball will meet up with Bridgewater College Saturday at 11 a.m., followed by Bridgewater vs. Mary Baldwin College scheduled for 1 p.m, and again Sweet Briar vs. Mary Baldwin College at 3 p.m.
