The Vixen volleyball squad lost a hard-fought battle at Randolph College tonight, losing in five tight games. Scores were 16-25, 25-22, 25-20, 21-25, and 13-15 for the deciding match.

There was a tremendous team effort by the Sweet Briar players. Sophomore Cassidy Jones (Rustburg, Va.) had a team high of 10 kills while Ashley Winters ('11/Mechanicsville, Va.) had eight kills as well as 28 defensive digs. In addition, Laura Jett ('11/Littleton, CO) contributed 24 digs. First-year player Alexis Rukenbrod (Laurel, Md.) had seven kills with 22 assists. Brooke Moody ('11/Concord, Va.) had 14 assists. The team had a total of 12 block assists.

The Vixen team will travel to Roanoke College on October 15 slated for a 6:30 p.m. start time.
