The Vixens met up with the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets in their home opener today at the Sweet Briar College Boathouse Road Field. The Vixens were unable to defend against the Yellow Jackets as they lost 2-6.
Sophomore Alicia Modzelewski from Virginia Beach, Va. scored both goals for Sweet Briar, while junior Molly McGonagle, also from Virginia Beach, Va. had one assist.
The Sweet Briar Vixens, now 1-2, will travel to the Wilson College tournament on Saturday Sept. 13 where they will meet up with Rosemont College at 2:00 p.m. for the first game of that tournament.
The next home field hockey game will take place on Thursday Sept. 25 at 4:30 p.m. against ODAC member Bridgewater College.
