‘Outstanding Woman Scholar’ Recognized
On May 9, the Virginia IOTA State Organization of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International awarded an “Outstanding Woman Scholar Education Award” to Shanna Ryan ’08.

Shanna RyanThe award is presented each year to a senior in Sweet Briar College’s education department. According to its Web site, The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is a “professional honor society of women educators.”

Ryan, of Denver, Colo., graduated from Sweet Briar in May with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. She is currently enrolled in the College’s Master of Arts in Teaching program.
