Byrd/Edahl Receive Tennis All-Conference Nods in Singles and Doubles
Senior Caroline Byrd (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) and sophomore Virginia Edahl (Charlotte, N.C./Providence) were honored Tuesday by the conference as the 2008 All-Conference Tennis Team was announced. Both receive second-team nods in singles and together received second-team honors in doubles.


Caroline Byrd '08

Byrd ended her college career with seven straight wins at No. 2 singles, picking up her final three wins at the ODAC Women’s Tennis Championships. She finished her senior season 10-4 at the No. 2 position.


Virginia Edahl '10

Edahl also ended the season with a winning streak, reeling off six straight wins at No. 1 singles to finish her sophomore year 10-3 at the top slot.

As a doubles team, the pair was 10-4 overall this season at No. 1 and 6-4 against ODAC competition. Byrd and Edahl won four straight to finish 2008 and eight of their last 10 matches.
