Sweet Briar College music students will perform at 4 p.m. on Monday, April 28 in the annual Spring Student Recital. Held in Memorial Chapel, the event will feature vocal and instrumental performances by students taking lessons from the College’s music faculty.
At 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, Sweet Briar’s concert and chamber choirs will perform in Memorial Chapel under the direction of Frank Archer. They will be joined by the Men’s Chorus from Hampden-Sydney College.
The choirs will be accompanied by James Kidd and Anna Billias.
Sweet Briar’s choirs will perform a collection of songs by Johannes Brahms, two of which are based on Shakespearean texts. The H-S Men’s Chorus will sing works they performed recently in England.
The choirs will join forces for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Coronation Mass.”
