Sweet Briar College biology students will talk about their research projects from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 17 in Heuer Auditorium. The auditorium is located in Guion Science Center, and the public is invited.
The following students will present:
- Dawn Slekis ’08 — Mercury eaters? Mercury concentrations in the chain catshark.
- Bethany McGee ’09 — Using skeletochronology to determine the age structure of Sweet Briar’s spotted salamander population.
- Sara Rothamel ’09 — Short-term survivorship of spotted salamander egg masses in Guion Pond.
- Amanda Wisz ’08 — The effects of Vitamin D on the expression of Gadd45a in response to UVC exposure.
- Jessica Cheverton ’09 — The scourge of a new machine.
- Sam Clark ’08 — Size at maturity of chain catshark.
- Jennifer Horswell ’09 — Neuron culture: Past, present and future.
