For her senior theater project, Sweet Briar College student Michelle Demere will direct a staged reading of her play, “Un-rustled Sheets.” The reading will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 18 and 19 in the Babcock Studio Theater.
Admission is free but seating is limited.
According to Demere, “Un-rustled Sheets” is intended for mature audiences and “revolves around the issue and origin of female insecurity. The story surrounds a young girl, Julie, who is forced to confront her own identity when she moves to a new school.
“In her turbulent struggle for self-acceptance, she wanders through a misguided maze of ‘Life How It Is’ according to Cosmopolitan magazine. Julie’s struggles also call to question the workings of our society – through the warped view and demands of a consumer-based culture.”
Cast members include Elizabeth Zuckerman ’09 as Julie, Carina Finn ’10, Tania Salas Platt ’10, Kat Alexander ’11, Hillary Edwards ’11, Stephanie Jasper ’11, Tiffany Marr ’11, Heather McTague ’11, Alexis Simmont ’11, Catherine Tooke ’11 and Lynchburg College students Mathew Jones and Thomas Key.
