ASHLAND, Va. — Vixens sophomore Virginia Edahl (Charlotte, N.C./Providence) and senior Caroline Byrd (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) both captured wins in singles and doubles on Sunday, but Sweet Briar could not topple host Randolph-Macon, falling 6-3 in the conference match.
Edahl and Byrd captured their sixth win on the season at No. 1 doubles with an 8-2 win over Yellow Jackets Windsor Tyler and Karen-Anne McEwen.

In singles action, Edahl came out victorious at No. 1 with a 6-1, 6-1 win. Byrd defeated her opponent at No. 2 by a 6-0, 6-1 score.
The Vixens, now 3-7 overall on the season , wrap up their regular-season home schedule on Wednesday as the team plays host to Randolph College.

Sweet Briar’s rained out match with Ferrum College that was rescheduled for this Tuesday has been canceled due to a scheduling conflict with Ferrum’s conference tournament.
