SALEM, Va. — Senior Brittney Berry (Tappahannock, Va./Essex) drove in all three Vixen runs on Sunday in Sweet Briar's doubleheader loss to #19 Roanoke College. The host Maroons scored nine in each game to take the conference games 9-1 and 9-2.
Berry batted .500 for the day, going 1-for-3 in game one and picking up two hits in three at-bats in game two.
She drove in two in the fifth inning of game two with a two-out double. Scoring on her hit were first-years Alyssa Montanez (Lambsburg, Va./Carroll Co.) and Amey Landreth (Disputanta, Va./Prince George), who reached on a walk and catcher’s interference, respectively.
Berry's bat also put Sweet Briar on the board in game one, when she plated Montanez with her lone hit of the game.
Sweet Briar returns home to host Lynchburg College on Wednesday. The first pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m.
