Edahl Picks Up Two Wins in Vixen Loss

Sophomore Virginia Edahl (Charlotte, N.C./Providence) picked up two exciting wins on Thursday as Sweet Briar tennis suffered a 7-2 loss at the hands of visiting Roanoke College in conference play.

Edahl and doubles partner senior Caroline Byrd (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) kicked off the match with a win at No. 1 doubles as the pair defeated Maroons Miliagrese and Gravina 8-6.

Off the win, Edahl moved on to her No. 1 singles match where she had to rebound from a 6-0 loss in the first set to defeat her opponent 0-6, 6-3, 6-3 and pick up Sweet Briar’s second win of the match.

The Vixens, now 2-3 overall, do not return to action until April 5 when the team travels to Guilford College for a 2 p.m. match.
