Visiting Eastern Mennonite University took both games of the conference doubleheader Thursday afternoon, taking game one by a 7-0 score and game two 10-0.

The Vixen bats were quieted by the Royal pitchers in the losses. Junior Melissa Viar (Madison Heights, Va./Amherst County) and first-year Ellie Witt (Salem, Va./Northside) picked up hits for Sweet Briar in game one. Both were 1-for-3. First-year Amey Landreth (Disputanta, Va./Prince George) beat out a bunt in the first inning to pick up the lone hit for the Vixens in game two.

Sweet Briar is home again on Sunday as the Vixens welcome Mary Baldwin College at 1 p.m.
