Vixens Venture Out of Conference to Face Shorewomen
Chestertown, Md. — Sweet Briar lacrosse fell 19-11 Friday evening as the team broke conference play to face the Shorewomen of Washington College.

First-year Stewart Hulfish (Alexandria, Va./Bishop Ireton) led the Vixens attack with five goals and two assists. Hulfish netted the first goal of the game. She was followed by junior Meredith Newman (Charlottesville, Va./Tandem) to give Sweet Briar a 2-0 lead early.

Newman finished with a goal and an assist, as did first-year D.J. Abernathy (Annandale, Va./W.T. Woodson). Senior Ellie Donahue (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal) had two tallies.

Sweet Briar, now 1-2, is off this week for spring break. The team resumes its schedule March 21 at Randolph-Macon College. The game is set for a 4:30 p.m. start.
