Sweet Briar College will hold its annual Christmas Vespers at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 in Memorial Chapel. The service will be performed by the Sweet Briar Concert Choir with visiting associate professor of music Frank Archer directing. The event is free and open to the public.
SBC professor of music Rebecca McCord will play the organ and Anna Billias will play piano. Billias is the accompanist for Sweet Briar’s Concert Choir and plays for Lynchburg’s premier children’s choir, Cantate.
“Vespers has a long and honored history in the life of SBC,” said College Chaplain Adam White.
The service is based on the traditional 19th-century Anglican Service of Nine Lessons and Carols.
A chocolate party at Sweet Briar House will follow the Vespers program. For more information, please call (434) 381-6113.
