Sweet Briar volleyball came within two serves of forcing Tuesday’s match to a game four, falling in three games to visiting Randolph-Macon College. The conference match closes out the ODAC schedule for Sweet Briar.
Down 18-15 in game three, sophomore Blair Mullally (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) served four straight points to hand Sweet Briar the slim lead at 19-18. Strong hitting and blocking at the net and scrappy defense from the Vixens helped to keep the game close and prevented a rally from Randolph-Macon.

After side outs from both teams brought the game to 29-28 Randolph-Macon, the Yellow Jackets served the game-winner to take the match in three 30-11, 30-17, 30-28.
Sweet Briar, 2-24 overall, concludes its season on Thursday. The Vixens play host to Salem College at 7 p.m.
