HOLLINS — After 110 minutes of soccer Friday afternoon, Vixen Soccer walked away with a 1-1 tie on the road at Hollins University. Sweet Briar capitalized on its only corner kick of the game in the 11th minute as sophomore Helen Phillips (Lynchburg, Va./Heritage) headed in the feed from first-year Alexis Hart (New Britain, Conn./New Britain) on the set play to score the Vixens’ lone goal.

Host Hollins responded with its lone goal just over 20 minutes later to tie the game at one-all. The tie held up through the remaining 58 minutes of regulation and through both overtime periods.
Vixen goalie Kristen Johnson '09 (Federal Way, Wash./Decatur) collected 16 saves in the overtime game. She faced 30 shots from the Hollins attack, including five in overtime.
Sweet Briar wraps up its season at Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday. The Vixens take on the Marlins at 2 p.m.
