Harrisonburg — The Vixens of Sweet Briar hockey tallied three goals Wednesday, wrapping up their conference schedule with a 6-3 loss at the hands of the ODAC’s top-ranked Eastern Mennonite University Royals.

Junior Sarah Goldstein (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal) put Sweet Briar’s first goal on the board in the 10th minute, tying the game at 1-1. After five unanswered Royal goals, three of which came off penalty corners, the Vixens responded by finding the cage twice more before the end of the game.
First-year Erika Magee (Petersburg, Va./Prince George) tallied Sweet Briar’s second goal with an unassisted shot at 61:51. Melissa Carron ’10 (Grosse Pointe, Mich./Grosse Pointe North) then followed off a feed from Molly McGonegle ’10 (Virginia Beach, Va./Floyd E. Kellam) in the 68th minute.
Senior captain Cat Cox (Prince Frederick, Md./Calverton) collected 12 saves in goal for the Vixens.
Sweet Briar concludes the 2007 season on Wednesday, playing host to Mary Baldwin College.
