One Goal Proves to be the Difference In Loss to Randolph
A lone goal proved to be the game-winner Saturday as cross-town rivals Randolph College and Sweet Briar College met on the Vixen soccer field. Randolph’s Marie Taylor scored the game-winner in the 61st minute to take the game 1-0.

The play from both goalkeepers was outstanding in the game, helping to keep the game nil-nil into the second half. Vixen keeper Kristen Johnson ’09 (Federal Way, Wash./Decatur) picked up six saves on 13 shots from the WildCats. The lone goal she allowed came on a shot from well outside the 18.

Sweet Briar returns to the road on Tuesday, traveling to Lexington to face the Generals of Washington and Lee at 4 p.m.
