LYNCHBURG — Vixen hockey traveled down US-29 Friday evening to take on the 19th-ranked Lynchburg College Hornets. The conference game went to the host team by a score of 7-0 to move Sweet Briar’s overall record to 2-8 on the season.
Vixen goalie senior Cat Cox (Prince Frederick, Md./Calverton) collected 11 saves as she and the Sweet Briar defense defended 32 shots from the Hornets.

Tuesday’s scheduled contest at the University of Mary Washington has been rescheduled for Oct. 16. With the rescheduled game, the Vixens will return to action again next Thursday when the team welcomes conference opponent Washington and Lee University to campus at 4:30 p.m.
