Sweet Briar volleyball rallied to force a fourth match Tuesday evening, before falling 14-30, 21-30, 31-29, 24-30 to visiting Roanoke College in ODAC volleyball action.
Roanoke broke away late in the tightly contested third match, serving game-point at 29-24. The Vixens, however, kept the match alive earning a very important side out to serve at 29-25. With the ball in junior Meagan Bell's (Madison Heights, Va./Amherst County) hands at the service line, the Vixens earned six straight points for the win. Sweet Briar took the match in comeback fashion 31-29.

Bell finished with one service ace and 14 digs. Several Vixens captured double-digits in digs as Sweet Briar tallied 80 as a team. Ashley Winters ’11 (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis) had the team-high with 24, while Laura Jett ’11 (Littleton, Colo./Thunderridge) added 16. At the net, Cassidy Jones ’11 (Rustburg, Va./Rustburg) knocked down a team-best 10 kills.
Sweet Briar is back on the road on Thursday. The team travels to Shenandoah University for a 6:30 match with the Hornets.
