BRIDGEWATER – Sweet Briar volleyball suffered two losses Saturday as the team traveled to Bridgewater for a tri-match with Bridgewater College and the University of Mary Washington.
Ashley Winters ’11 (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis ) and Laura Jett ’11 (Littleton, Colo./Thunderridge) combined for 28 digs in game one against the Bridgewater Eagles. The game went to the home team 30-12, 30-15, 30-24. Team leaders for game two were first-year attacker Cassidy Jones (Rustburg, Va./Rustburg) with six kills and fellow first-year Lauren Foster (Evington, Va./Rustburg), who added 13 assists. Foster had 305 assists on the season leading into today’s tri-match. Sweet Briar lost the Mary Washington match 30-21, 30-9, 30-28.
The Vixens return home Tuesday to host Roanoke College in a 6:30 p.m. conference match.
