SWEET BRIAR — Sweet Briar volleyball played host to a Homecoming Weekend tri-match Saturday with Lynchburg College and Mountain State University. The Vixens took on Lynchburg College in the first match of the day with the Hornets taking the match in three, 30-13, 30-17, 30-14.
The Vixens rebounded to take game one of their afternoon match against Mountain State 30-28, before falling 30-20, 30-15, 30-18 to drop the match by a 3-1 score. Lauren Foster ’11 Evington, Va./Rustburg) added 26 assists and 14 digs in the match. Ashley Winters ’11 (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis) also tallied 14 digs along with 12 from Laura Jett ’11 (Littleton, Colo./ThunderRidge).
After an alumnae match on Sunday, the Vixens are slated to travel to Guilford College on Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m. match.
