Alexander Wipes Out Shutout with Second-Half Tally
Kat Alexander’s (Marshall, N.C./Carolina Day) second half goal Saturday spoiled visiting Emory & Henry’s shutout as the Wasps took the conference contest by a score of 3-1.

Down 2-0 after the first half of play, Alexander took a through pass from defender Hannah Hesser ’10 (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal), dribbled by a defender and placed the ball passed the Wasps keeper for the Vixens’ first goal of the game. Her goal brought Sweet Briar within 1 with 30 minutes left to play. But, the one-goal differential was a close as the Vixens could come as the Wasps added an insurance goal in the 68th minute for the win.

The Vixens continue their conference schedule on Wednesday, traveling to Hollins University for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
