Dave Griffith, assistant professor of English at Sweet Briar, will be a host on The Eclectic Word, a literary radio show on the World Wide Word Radio Network, at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21.

Wayne Kostenbaum, author of the new book “Hotel Theory,” also will be on the show.

New to Sweet Briar’s faculty, Griffith is teaching Art of the Essay, Thought and Expression and American Literature this fall.

He has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Fine Arts in fiction writing from the University of Pittsburgh, where he also was awarded the Scott Turow prize.
