Vixens Suffer First Loss of Season
Vixen hockey’s first loss of the season came Saturday at the hands of visiting Sewanee, as the Tigers handed Sweet Briar a 4-0 decision. With the loss, the Vixens move to 1-1 on the season, while the Tigers open the 2007 season 1-0.

The Tigers put two on the board in each period. Junior Lynn Hancock led the Sewanee offense with two goals. On defense for the Vixens, first-year goalie Laura Wolf (Yorklyn, Del./Wilmington Friends) turned back 21 shots in the game. First-year Isabella Formento (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) picked up her second defensive save in as many games.

Sweet Briar returns to the field Sunday, traveling to Ashland to take on Randolph-Macon. The conference opener for the Vixens is set for 1 p.m.
