Lincoln P. Brower, a research biologist at Sweet Briar and world-renowned monarch butterfly expert, has been honored by England’s Marsh Christian Trust and the Royal Entomological Society for his lifetime contribution to insect conservation.
According to an online article in the
innovations report of Bad Homburg, Germany, Brower was in Britain recently to highlight the plight of the monarch butterfly. Brian Marsh, chairman of the Marsh Christian Trust, presented Brower with the Marsh Award for Insect Conservation for his lifetime contribution to the field of entomology.
It’s not the first time Brower has been recognized in Europe this summer for his more than 50 years of research and advocacy for monarch butterflies and their habitats. Earlier this month he was in Rome, where a
symposium was held in his honor at the fifth International Conference on the Biology of Butterflies.
